Collections

The VVIK shares responsibility for the preservation and restoration of some parts of its collections. The most important are the Gandhara-album with albumen prints from before 1885, a collection of about 80,000 photos and a number of palm-leaf manuscripts. The photos are accessible through a library database. The VVIK financially supports the preservation of the indological collections of the library of the Kern Institute. For an overview, see Library.
