De Cock Fund

The VVIK administers the De Cock Fund. This fund ‒ officially called ‘Dr. de Cock-fundatie’ ‒ is based on a bequest left in 1953 by Mrs. Hermine de Cock-Boon. She was the widow of Dr J.K. de Cock who died in 1941. The conditions of the bequest stipulate: ‘that the bequest must be administered separately under the name ‘Dr. de Cock-fundatie’, that one-tenth of the annual benefit has to be added to the main capital and that not more than nine-tenth of the benefit may be spent in accordance with the intents and purposes of the board in order to further the scholarly activities of the institute’.

Students who wish to make a study trip can apply for a travel grant with the De Cock Fund. But also other activities in connection with Indological studies may be funded. The board of the VVIK administers this fund and deals with applications for subsidies. See conditions and procedures.
